What do osteopaths treat?
Osteopaths see an estimated 7 million patients a year throughout the UK. Although best known for back pain, osteopathy can help in the treatment of a diverse range of problems. In fact, many of the people consulting us for their first appointment do not know the cause of their problem, just that they are experiencing pain or restricted movement. It is the osteopath’s role to explore and investigate the problem and then explain their diagnosis and recommended course of treatment.
Some typical conditions treated include:
- Backpain during pregnancy
- Back Pain
- Muscular strains
- Neck and shoulder complaints
- Joint pain
- Sport’s injuries
- Repetitive strain injuries
- Trapped nerves eg. sciatica
